About This Constituency

The constituency was created in 2012 after the then Obuasi constituency was split into the Obuasi East and Obuasi West constituencies. It has been a safe seat for the New Patriotic Party since it was created.

Patrick Boakye-Yiadom – Member of Parliament

 In the 2020 Ghana general elections, he won the parliamentary seat with 27,583 votes whilst the NDC parliamentary aspirant Samuel Aboagye had 14,786 votes
