About This Constituency

The Asante Akim Central Municipal is one of the districts in Ashanti Region, Ghana. It was formerly the Asante Akim North Municipal. The municipality is located in the Eastern part of Ashanti Region and has Konongo as its capital town.

Election History

Kwame Anyimadu-Antwi – Member of Parliament

 

The Asante Akim Central member of parliament has occupied the position from 2019 after he won the 2018 parliamentary elections on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He won the 2020 election with 22,681 (52.72%) votes while his closest contender, Richard Adu Darko, an independent candidate, polled 12,570 (29.22%).
